In the field of knowledge, Córdoba represents an international point of reference in agri-food research, led by the School of Agricultural and Forestry Engineering and the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the University of Córdoba, the Institute of Sustainable Agriculture of the CSIC, and the Institute of Agricultural, Fisheries and Agri-food Training of the Regional Government of Andalusia. In the Biomedical field, Córdoba is home to institutions such as the Reina Sofia University Hospital, the University of Córdoba and the Maimonides Institute of Biomedical Research of Córdoba (IMIBIC).
In addition to those two areas of specialization, an important project has recently been added, the Army Logistics Base, which is to be built in Córdoba, incorporating state-of-the-art technological elements, a strong R&D&I component, and where the role of the innovative ecosystem can be of great relevance. The Base will mobilise an investment of more than 350 million euros and will create more than 1,700 direct jobs and more than a thousand indirect jobs.
